My Summary:

Synopsis sounds interesting enough, but is sweetened to sound promising. This book is really just another cheesy and unconvincing romance.

I was NOT pleased with this book, and if it weren't for the fact that I couldn't get another book from the library, I would have marked it as not finished.

I wrapped the leash around my hand and ignored her protests as I hauled her to her feet and dragged her down the street past the crumbling wooden shacks.

"It wasn't me! I didn't kill nobody!" Her movements became wild, almost convulsive, and I turned to glare at her.

"There's something human left in you, ain't there?" she asked, craning her neck to look at the number above the bar code on my wrist.

She froze. Her eyes flew from the 178 printed on my skin to my face and she let out another shriek.
No. There was no human left in me.

Things I Liked

Reboot was a good action book, up until Callum came along and the cheesy romance started. It is about a girl named Wren, who died from a virus and woke up 178 minutes later. The world is being affected by this virus, and those who arise from the dead are called Reboots.  They are thought to be a danger to the human race, so Reboots are recruited to hunt down and capture humans that commit crimes.
Wren was dead for 178 minutes, which is more than any other Reboot has ever been dead. The longer you are dead, the less human you are.
Wren has no human left in her.

Up until this point, the story was awesome.

Then, one day, this character named Callum came along.

And this is where we move to the dislike part of this review.

Things I Disliked

1: The romance between Wren and Callum

Yes, more like SUPER CHEESY out of NOWHERE romance. At first, Wren has like, no feelings whatsoever for others. She is just a mean killing machine. Then Callum comes along, and automatically she's like: "Oh, he is so hot. And now I have romantic feelings for him, even though up until this point, I have had no feelings."

I just did not believe it. It's like her Reboot self just left the book for no reason. It didn't even warm up to that point, like having her hate him at first and want to kill him and think he's annoying (you know, all the Reboot feelings) but instead, it was like, Bibbidy Bobbidy Bam and now you are a romantic gooey mess!

It just did not work for me. I wanted to tell the author: "YOU WANT SOME NACHOS WITH THAT CHEESE?!?!?!?!"

2. The super weird sentences

 There were a whole bunch of sentences where I blinked said



and re-read the sentence again. First really weird sentence:

It was true that all Reboots were attractive, in a way. After death, when the virus took hold and the body Rebooted, the skin cleared, the body sharpened, the eyes glowed. It was like pretty with a hint of deranged.



*Please excuse the language of this gif......

Wait.... the eyes did what? Glowed? How is that considered pretty?



Next weird quote:  Twenty-two stared, his lips parted, his neck pulsing strangely.

Again:



His neck did.... what?

I know this is a short review, but in conclusion, I only have three words:

A big disappointment.
